Spring Media Partners with World Combat Games on Global Distribution
The late-October multi-sport spectacle hosted in Riyadh will be made available to broadcasters outside of MENA.
Spring Media agrees on worldwide rights - excluding MENA - for the World Combat Games (WCG), adding another crown jewel to its fight sports portfolio.
The multi-sport event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on October 21-30 - bringing together ancient traditions, sport demonstrations, and the world’s best martial arts & combat sport athletes in one city.
“As a full-service sports agency with comprehensive expertise in multi-sport events, Spring Media’s appointment for the distribution of broadcasting rights, will ensure maximum exposure for the World Combat Games 2023, reaching fans globally.” said Martin Gibbs, Managing Director of SportAccord.
The WCG will showcase martial arts and combat sports involving sixteen international federations: aikido, arm wrestling, boxing, fencing, judo, ju-jitsu, karate, kendo, kickboxing, muaythai, sambo, savate, sumo, taekwondo, wrestling and wushu.
The competition will be hosted at the King Saud University and stadium.
“We are pleased to be representing such an inspiring sporting event,” said José Moreno, Partner at Spring Media. “With relevant knowhow from multi-sports competitions, and a longstanding leg within the fight sports ring, our global sales team is well equipped to target all relevant broadcast partners and markets with this high-end competition.”
