Spring Media to represent International Hockey Federation betting live video rights
The agreement includes the sale of the Federation’s key international tournaments, and more than 1300 matches across a four-year cycle.
Spring Media partners with the International Hockey Federation (FIH) to offer a package that includes the annual men’s and women’s Pro League, quadrennial World Cup features, and Olympic Qualifier action ahead of Paris 2024.
The betting package is the latest addition to the agency’s hockey portfolio. Spring Media recently partnered with the Australian top-tier HockeyOne league, distributing the media rights of its 2023 edition to several key markets outside national borders. Since 2022, the international full-service agency has also acted as Host Broadcaster on behalf of Viaplay Netherlands, covering matches of the national Hoofdklasse.
“We are excited to be working with the FIH to broaden our hockey presence and knowhow,” said Craig Neilson, Commercial Director, Spring Media. “The package holds strong relevance in major International markets and offers a large bulk of top-tier events on competitive time slots - ideal for betting partners.”
Commenting on the agreement, FIH President Tayyab Ikram said: “We very much look forward to this partnership with Spring Media. It is a great addition to our commercial portfolio, and expands our resources for the benefit of the growth of hockey. On behalf of FIH, I’d like to thank Spring Media for their involvement. This new agreement is an additional significant contribution to the enhancement of our commercial and broadcast approach.”
The term starts with Olympic Qualifier stages for Paris 2024 hosted at three locations (India, Spain, and Oman) on January 13. The action then continues with an inaugural Hockey5s World Cup from Oman, January 24-31.
