Spring Productions to produce OBOS Damallsvenskan 2022
Spring Productions, the production arm of Spring Media, has been appointed the production partner of NENT during the 2022 OBOS Damallsvenskan season. The announcement follows NENT’s acquisition in November last year of rights to OBOS Damallsvenskan until 2026. Spring Productions will be producing all matches aired on Viaplay and other NENT channels around the world – and will also be responsible for supporting the league with general coordination.
Since 2014, Spring Media has been supporting OBOS Damallsvenskan and Swedish Elite Football Dam (EFD), the organization behind the top two Swedish women’s football leagues, with media rights management and production services, with the ambition to grow the exposure of Swedish women’s football and drive value back to the sport. The new partnership with NENT will shine a bright spotlight on the league and let fans enjoy a full season of high-end productions based on a multi-camera remote setup.
“We are looking forward to deepening our relationship with NENT and to further raise the production bar for OBOS Damallsvenskan,” says Marcus Alm, Head of Operations at Spring Media. “The productions from the 2022 season are important in the continued growth of Spring Productions in Sweden, adding 130 matches of multi-camera remote productions to our schedule, which now contains over 1000 domestic events per year.”
“We are extremely pleased to finally have kickstarted our broadcasts of OBOS Damallsvenskan. We look forward to an intriguing season where viewers can enjoy all matches on Viaplay and up to two matches per week on TV6. In collaboration with Spring Media, who will be spearheading production of our Viaplay matches, we have raised the bar for our productions and hope the viewer will enjoy an even better experience than before,” says Joakim Ekstrand, Head of Onsite Production, NENT Sport Nordic.
